Our sweet friend Ashley is getting ready to head down to Mexico to receive treatment (and hopefully total remission) for her Lyme Disease. Many of you don't know that this is a battle she is still fighting... literally for her life... because she tries SO hard to be a positive light in this world and not complain or be a "burden". This is a debilitating and chronic disease that this amazing girl endures daily... without complaining. There is so much I could say about Ashley's character and resilience through all this but I don't need to because you already know. You already know the person/friend/daughter she is. You already know her servant heart and how she takes the focus off her pain to help others. You already know her lack of complaining and willingness to ask for help because she wants so bad to be strong. Which is why we're here right now. We are believing and hopeful that this treatment could drastically change Ash's life... and be the cure to bring total healing and remission!
The $30K is going to cover Ashley's 4 week holistic detox and recovery with around the clock care at a wellness clinic in Mexico. Because Lyme is not considered a "chronic disease" by the CDC and there is no known cure, financial costs of treatment are left almost entirely for Ashley and her family to cover out of pocket. This facility and doctor were recommended by Ash's current specialist because of the outstanding results other patients have seen in the fight against Lyme disease. We are praying and trusting God that this will be the answer for Ashley, too!
A little background.
Ashley was diagnosed with Lyme Disease in 2015 after 10+ years of sickness, wondering, and testing. Unfortunately, this time lapse allowed for Lyme to invade and attack her body leaving a multitude of symptoms including brain fog, crippling muscle and joint pain, chronic fatigue, memory lapse and other symptoms.
Through years of countless treatments and a ton of out of pocket expenditure, there have been some small victories that have kept Ash stable and able to continue on with a semi "normal" life. However, recently, treatment has stopped being as effective, leaving her body in a position of toxic overload, which is polluting and damaging her organs and nervous system (becoming septic). This has left our sweet girl at a standstill in treatment/recovery. While she continues to fight/treat her body has stopped responding to her routine treatment, leaving her no choice but to go out of the country to receive the most effective treatment... ASAP. To do a similar treatment plan in the U.S .it would cost at least triple the amount and add years to the process while risking the chance of not being as effective due to the lapse of time.
Ashley knows that a high risk yields a high reward and we are believing this is it. A young, married woman in her 20's should be planning a family, not a life-saving treatment plan.
