Riley's Medical Fund

Donation protected
A few months ago our lives changed radically. After several months of an unknown illness and many optometrist appointments and doctor’s visits, they discovered that our sweet Riley Ann had developed a tumor at the base of her brain. Following a tense day in surgery, the tumor was determined as a Medulloblastoma, which is a form of cancer that creates a tumor and occurs mostly in children for reasons doctors have yet to uncover. After Riley came through the surgery like the warrior she is the doctors had a great plan all ready for her, including speech and physical therapies. Riley has to retrain the muscles in her body to do what she knows they should be doing. She has been making tremendous progress ever since; each day she is getting stronger and stronger! Part of her recovery includes radiation and chemotherapy to rid her brain and body of the cancer.

For those that have met Riley, know that she can light up a room with her smile. She gives hugs that can warm your heart and a laugh that cannot be contained. In the short six years of her life, she has made a name for herself with her spunky personality and creative imagination. As many of you know, the cost of this battle is incredibly high; this is not only the various therapies and treatments that are necessary for Riley to beat this cancer, but the costs that are associated with cancer.

Both of Riley’s parents, Mike and Madison, have served in the United States Army and have recently been transferred to Hawaii. As much of a paradise this place may sound like, the move has been very difficult and so expensive.  The family is still in need of many things once Riley leaves the hospital and goes back to a place she calls home.  This medical fund will be supplementing an assortment of needs for the family, transportation to and from treatments and therapy sessions, accumulated medical bills, as well as household items that will assist Riley as she recovers.  Some of the items they need include a special thermometer for Riley, new bed, as bunk beds won't work any more, and special equipment for physical therapy at home.  Transportation in Hawaii is a huge expense.  Gas, insurance and the cost of shipping an extra car to the island is huge.

Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated and will be generously accepted! We cannot wait for the day when we can share that Riley is cancer free!
