April 14, 2017, a tragedy struck my family. My brother, Jason Gunter, was in a traumatic /horrific motorcycle accident on his way to lunch. He was T-boned by a car, thrown approximately 10 feet in the air from his motorcycle and had to be airlifted to Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. The injuries of the accident caused him to suffer severe and life changing damages.
As a result of the accident, he suffered a thigh bone fracture, an anterior muscle in lower leg fracture, calf bone fracture, triangular bone at the base of the spine fracture, left hip disruption, and multiple burn abrasions on his legs and arm, penile fracture, urethral injury and nerve damage causing him to have an indwelling catheter and a concussion which resulted in memory loss, slurred speech, and the inability to process information. The prognosis is multiple surgeries in the future.
Presently, he is unable to walk and has to attend physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech pathology sessions daily in addition to bi-weekly neurology appointments.
The person that hit him does not have enough insurance to cover his injuries and since he has only been with his company for two years and did not get hurt on the job, his company is unable to assist with his medical expenses. The lack of insurance has created a physical, emotional and financial hardship for his wife and one year old daughter.
We are asking for contributions to assist with his medical bills and provide financial support to his family. Any amount, whether large or small, will be appreciated.
We thank you for your support and prayers.
