Haylie Gibby-NAM Scholarship Opp.

Thank you so much for your interest in my campaign. My name is Haylie Gibby and I am 15 years old.  I am in the 10th grade and attend Arkansas Virtual Academy(ARVA), an online public school. I aspire to have a career in journalism and creative writing. I recently competed in the Arkansas National American Miss competition, upon receiving a recommendation to do so. I have never been a pageant girl, and I did not know what to expect. I have to say it has been one of the best experiences of my life. This competition has given me self confidence and reassurance in the person that God has made me to be. The competion is unlike any pageant that I had ever known. The pageant focuses on beauty that comes from within, not the outside appearance. They help to educate young ladies to give us the skills we will need to be successful in the future. I am so excited and honored to say that at the state competion I received 3 trophies. I received 1st runner-up, among all the competitors, for Academic Achievement. I am an all A student and I take pride in my education. I received 1st place for Miss Personality. All of the competitors vote for the girl they think is the friendliest, who helps out the most, and who is the most fun to be around! I also received 1st runner-up for Miss Spirit which is the same as above except that the competitors and the Staff vote. I was completely honored to receive these awards! Because of my Academic Achievement Award at the state competition,  I have been selected to compete on the National level for a chance to win a college scholarship!!! I will be giving a speech that is very dear to my heart, to raise awareness concerning texting and driving. The competition will be held in Anaheim, California during November, Thanksgiving week 2017. I will get to go to Disneyland for the 1st time and also visit Hollywood. I am so excited for this opportunity. I am asking for your support to assist me in paying for the sponsor fees, travel fees and other expenses.
