From the beginning....
Havynn Jayne Bradshaw born 5/30/2012 at 3lbs 4oz full term but don't let that fool you. During the pregnancy we lost her twin and 90% of the amniotic fluid she needed to fully move around, explaining her small birth weight. She had inner utero constriction causing her to be born with bilateral clubfeet and a disease called Arthrogryposis multiplex congenital (AMC), or simply arthrogryposes, describes congenital joint contracture in two or more areas of the body. It derives its name from Greek, literally meaning "curving of joints". She has this is her hips, knees, and ankles. We started casting and surgeries just 20 days into her life and that's all she's know since with no progress. Her knees are still extremely contracted and we can do many more surgeries to permanently pin everything in her lower half straight but she will never be able to bear weight. She does not have any muscle from the knees down and will never grow any so it has come to our attention at many doctors expense that amputation may be the best solution for her issues. We have finally went through and planned the surgery for Jan 10th. As a family we are not looking for money for gas, food, or hotels but more for Havynn. She is going to need a wheelchair for after the surgery and as she learns to walk with her new legs. Also prosthetics are very expensive.
It's not easy for me as a mother and being as independent as I am to ask for this kind of help but everyone gets down sometimes and emotional support is even better. Anyone that wants to call or text or maybe even meet Havynn for the first time is welcome to. Thank you for anything and everything...prayers are the best. God bless.
