My fellow EagleScout Jeff Broaddus (USMC) and his buddies have headed down to Houston to help with the Harvey rescue.  A huge thank you to #AustinBoatsandMotor for donating their vessel. The rescue is ongoing and he's lost count of number of people they've gotten to dry land.

One 93 yr old woman had broken her hip and was trapped in her apt building. Also a family of 6, kids ranging from 3 up. More and more people who were just unable to get out in time have been picked up and are on their way to shelter. They are also now aware of the dire need in Port Arthur and making contacts to help there as well. They need is so very great all over.

Please continue to pray for all responders safety and Godspeed. The boat maneuvering is no joke, lots of underwater hazards, so thank you to 4 yrs at USMC Coronado for teaching him expert boat coxswain skills. It's coming very much in handy civilian side as well!

One thing he mentioned was the love and support of everyone, bags of food hanging in trees saying "take what you need and leave the rest." Also the hugs they receive upon boarding the boat are indescribable.

Cell coverage is holding up and they've been able to use maps and pings to get to people in need. Jeff is just one of thousands of people who are working hard to help. The wave of support is strong and tireless.

They aren't asking for compensation, but I know that fuel costs for all of the boat trips are high (at least $50 per tank).  Please consider donating to help offset the fuel costs.  Any funds not needed for their boat will be used ot buy fuel for other boats.  Any remaining funds will be donated to the RedCross and to https://www.nvoad.org.
