Hurricane Harvey Uniform Help

Tax deductible
The Lawson Academy is a public charter school that serves low-income middle school students in Houston, Texas.  We are a uniform school.  Since Hurricane Harvey, many families are unable to purchase their students' uniforms.  After the rain stopped, we started contacting our students and found some are in shelters (!) and others who are struggling with lost wages and home and car repair costs.

Each of our 300 students needs about $100 for uniform shirt/tie/vest and another $25 for shoes.   School supplies cost $40.  Our school will open on Monday, September 11, 2017, so your donation is needed right away.

Why do we need your help?  Federal school funds cannot be used for uniforms or shoes -- your gift is the only way we can help.

Many of our families are okay, but there are dozens who need our help.  Every dollar you gift will help us get  students ready to learn!
