Harvey Family - Fire devastation

On Tuesday 13th February 2024, Ken & Jeannee Harvey and their daughter and grandsons were forced to flee their home of 50 years. The devastating wildfire that was already burning on that catastrophic day suddenly turned and headed straight for the small township of Pomonal, Victoria, Australia. The family only had time to grab their precious animals ( cats - Ken & Jeannee are registered breeders of the wonderful Tonkinese - and family dog), and some basic necessities for Jeannee's care, before they were told to leave.

Unfortunately, they were one of the homes lost to these hideous fires. They have lost absolutely everything, house contents, a lifetime of photos, long stitch-on walls, family history, childhood memories, sheds, beekeeping equipment( including loader, honey extractor and other important equipment) , electric wheelchairs, gophers and other aides for Jeannee, mower, chainsaws and so much else.

Thankfully the house is insured but they need so many basic day to day living things for themselves and the animals. Currently, they are staying with their son, Andrew and his family, in their camper trailer that they were able to take with them.

The cats are in temporary cages until we can get them some portable enclosures. They only have very small amounts of clothes etc.

It is hard for my family to accept help as they are usually been the ones helping where they can, but I know that this time they need the help.
