Honoring Jim Droney
Donation protected
Dear Friends & Family,
As most of you know, Jim Droney was a proud member of the Irish American Home Society as well as the Hartford Gaelic Athletic Association. One of his true passions in life was to watch and coach his kids in any sport of their choosing. It just so happens that one of the sports they have chosen to play is Gaelic, an Irish form of football played on the pitch at the IAHS. The Men’s, Ladies and Youth teams include children and grandchildren of Jim and I have no doubt that he would be out there coaching at least one of the teams (as he has done in the past) as well as cheering them on with a beaming smile from ear to ear! How proud he would be!
In honor of his life and passion, I have committed to helping the HGAA obtain a scoreboard dedicated to Jim. My goal is to provide $20,000 toward this endeavor from the friends and family of Jim. I am reaching out to all of you as a special person who touched Jim’s life in some way for the opportunity to help contribute towards this goal. There have been many of you who have wanted to do something to remember him, I can’t think of a better way than to watch future generations playing on the field and seeing his name on the IAHS pitch he cherished so much.
We are anticipating a revealing of the scoreboard in May/June of this year and would consider it our privilege if you would join us.
With a most heartfelt thank you,
Diane Droney
