Harrison's Recovery

Donation protected
Friday evening, while crossing the street top lay with friends, my sweet little boy was hit by a Ford F-150 truck.

The bumper and grill were the perfect height for his little head and waist.

I can't describe the absolute stomach wrenching anguish I felt as I ran to his little body laying on the road.

He could not speak clearly to me though his sobs. He had a seizure, a collapsed lung, and blood/bruises/scrapes all over his body.

In a blur we were ambulanced to one hospital and shortly after, he was flown to the next, while we hastily packed bags and drove to meet him on time for his arrival to the Alberta Children's Hospital.

No doctors would tell me then if he would even make it there or not, only that if something happened on the way, he was with the best team to handle it.

He had to be intubated, have a catheter implemented and held in a  neck brace, all under many medications. I was terrified for him.

After many scans, we have learned that Harrison has two skull fractures, a pelvic fracture, and is in a  lot of pain. We don't know any more than that at this time, or how long he will be here. He has had a great couple of mornings with many optimistic check ups.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out with concern and caring.
