Harriet’s little pot to help her fight leukaemia

In November 2022, our best friend Tabs, and her family were given the devastating news that their 6-year-old daughter Ettie (Harriet) was diagnosed with (ALL) Leukaemia. As you can imagine their world instantly spun on an axis, treatment began immediately at Bristol hospital where they stayed for almost 3 weeks before Christmas, this meant time away from their support network and more importantly their 8-year-old son, George.

The treatment was intense, and the details of the long road ahead was nothing short from daunting. Thankfully, they now have shared care between Bristol and Truro which makes things a little easier when balancing hospital life and home life, but this is still a heavy burden to carry and the pressures of such a diagnosis not only effects the family emotionally but financially, so this page has been set up with journey ahead in mind. Leukaemia is a long road of unpredictable turns and uncertainty, you cannot plan, you cannot predict or assume, the only thing you can do is take things one day at a time, and when things are bad, hour by hour. This page will become a little pot to help with things like fuel costs to and from Bristol, equipment not provided by external sources like additional air purifiers or even the electricity to run them.

For those that wish to follow Ettie’s recovery this page will be updated regularly, it will also provide details of some fundraising events that Tab’s close friends/family will be doing to raise some money, so stay tuned, keep watch, and help out as and when you can. We appreciate that times are especially difficult right now, which is why this page is even more valuable.
