Hard-working family of 5 loses home to Oregon fire

The sudden and destructive Almeda fire in Southern Oregons Rogue Valley completely destroyed the home of a hard-working family of five. The house is a total loss and was not insured. They are grateful to have escaped unharmed, but couldn't have anticipated losing everything to this fire when forced to evacuate with few items on a moments notice. They spent the initial days following the fire in their daughter's college room, but are now in a hotel so dad can continue his job as a farm laborer in the valley.
This good family only wants to feel safe, have a place of refuge, and return to their familiar schools: particularly so the youngest, seven year old Christopher, who has autism, can maintain at least some continuity in his daily routine.
22 years ago, the mother, Laura, created a loving home where all three of her children were born and raised. September is a difficult month for this family. Nine years ago this week they lost their father and now have lost their home. Their step father works hard on a farm to provide for them and with your help will work to see that they again have a place to call home.
Today I witnessed their young son thrilled to be presented with a replacement for his "Woody" action figure lost in the fire. A loving and supportive family with the simplest of desires, I am impressed with this family's gratitude amid humble circumstances.
Our hope is to raise sufficient funds to provide for the immediate physical housing needs of this family and to see that the end of this September sees them safe, secure, supported, and together.
Money raised through gofundme will be used for a rent deposit and necessary furnishings. I was introduced to this family via a mutual friend who runs a group for families of children with disabilities in the Phoenix-Talent School district.
