Hank's Place Rebuilding Fund

Dear Friends,

For those who do not know me, my name is Joel Plotkin and I am from Kennett Square, PA. I am creating this campaign to help my friends who own a historic local institution, Hank's Place in Chadds Ford, PA. Katie and Anthony Young would be apprehensive about creating a GoFundMe campaign, so I am taking the initiative of putting this together.

Hank's Place has been continuously serving historic Chadds Ford and surrounding communities since 1950 - Just as Hank's was getting back on stable footing coming out of the Covid-19 pandemic, it was hit with another unexpected set-back.

On Wednesday, September 1, 2021 The Brandywine Valley region experienced unprecedented flooding from the remnants of Hurricane Ida. That rain resulted in the highest levels the Brandywine River has been in recorded history peaking at 21.5' - due to the flooding Hank's Place experienced devastating damage to their property and building.

Thankfully all of Hank's Place employees are safe.

Hank's Place employees are the backbone and warmth of what makes Hank's a truly unique and special place for all.

While insurance will help with the rebuilding of Hank's, it does not cover everything. Please help me help Katie and Anthony rebuild Hank's, and support the employees through this very difficult time. This campaign is set-up so only Katie and Anthony Young have access to the funds received. Every dollar of assistance raised will go toward employee assistance and to help with the items not covered by the insurance provider.

Katie and Anthony are eager to see their loyal customers and new ones with a smiling face, enjoying your favorite Hank's meal and a your bottomless cup of joe.

The ask is simple, help them weather this storm from Hurricane Ida. There are no donations too small or too large.
