I am honored and humbled to announce, I have been selected as a 2020 inductee into the Hampton University Forty under 40 Alumni Society! This distinguished society recognizes Hampton alumni for their professional and personal successes, as well as their commitment to community service and upholding Hampton University’s standard of excellence.

I am beyond honored to receive this recognition, especially right now, when there is a national spotlight on ending systemic racism and brutality against black people in America. A question on the minds of everyone right now is “What role can I play in abolishing the structures that oppress black people in America?” There are many roads to liberation, but none more effective than cultivating a strong mind and spirit. That is why I chose to attend Hampton, one of many amazing Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). College (HBCU or non HBCU) is not the only path to liberation; however, it is one of the best ways to develop the discipline necessary to pursue and live your passion. And a world where each of us can FREELY live and work in our passion IS liberation. HBCUs provide an environment where a young black mind can develop and bloom surrounded by love, support, and most importantly, role models. Seeing your success is foundational to success. Donating to an HBCU as prestigious as Hampton directly aids in the abolishment of systemic racism. HBCUs produce 80% this country’s of Black judges, 40% of its Black members of Congress, and 50% of its Black educators. Representation matters and is a key element to this antiracist movement.

It goes without mention that the global health crisis is wreaking financial havoc on all collegiate systems, with an increased impact to HBCUs. As part of the Forty under 40 Alumni Recognition Society, I have set a personal fundraising goal of $3000. Anything you can contribute to my goal is a blessing and is met with pure gratitude. Times may be hard, but benevolence is still good for the soul.

Family, Frat, and Friends, I need your help to accomplish this mission!  Please partner with me in raising funds to support efforts towards strengthening the visibility of alumni like myself, giving scholarships to deserving students, providing seminars and career building workshops, and gifting the athletic, visual/performing art, and music programs with proper equipment and resources.

If you find it in your heart to give, I kindly ask that you contribute your donation by Thursday, October 8. With your help, I know we can do it! Please feel free to tag and post this to your social media and share with your networks ! All size donations matter, no amount is too small! Thank you in advance - your support is greatly appreciated!

Wishing you Love, Peace and Light,
