Australian Bushfire Fundraiser

To all our friends & fam at home in Ireland or anywhere around the world, these devastating bushfires in Australia have inspired Sarah and I to take action and do a half marathon (21km) in 6 weeks time! All money raised will go to the victims of these catastrophic fires. While this might seem like a breeze to some people, neither of us are runners and haven't ran in a very long time - so this will be a massive challenge!  

This money will go directly to Anglicare Victoria where I work and know the funds will be used in the best possible way. We have centres providing financial support and emergency relief to the affected communities. Please be generous and support those who need it most at this time. Here’s why Australia needs your support:

- 14.6 million acres of the natural environment and farmland has burned since Sept and the fires are still blazing.

- 200 fires still burning across the country

- Estimated 1 billion animals have died because of the fires and the toll continues to rise.

- 24 people killed

- Thousands are still trapped with no electricity and water

- 1400+ homes lost

- A state of emergency has been declared in two states

With unrelenting weather forecasted all of these figures are rising by the day.
