Hadrian's Wall - Darren & Styles' 84 mile Trek
Darren & Styles have set themselves the huge challenge of walking the full length of Hadrian's Wall. The Wall stretches over 84 miles, running along the Northumberland National Park.
Living on the coast in Ryhope, and being regular walkers and fishermen, the lads have always been in support of the the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RLNI), with their local station being just a couple of miles away at Seaham harbour.
As well as experiencing the walk itself, they wanted to set themselves the additional challenge of raising awareness and money for the invaluable work they carry out, saving life's at sea and keeping the public safe.
The lads have booked and paid for their own accommodation and supplies, so all donations will go direct to the charity.
They will start on Sunday 22nd August, over five days/four nights. Beginning the trek west at Bowness-On-Soloway, walking east to Wallsend, Newcastle. The route they have planned will mean an average of 8hrs a day walking (day two and four being particularly difficult as the hiking ramps up).
They have set a target of £840 (£10 a mile) and are currently training daily with weighted backpacks to build up their fitness and stamina.
They have each purchased a HW passport which will be stamped across seven locations of the wall, confirming they completed the trek in full. Regular updates and photos will be added to their social media throughout
