Hadley's Birthday Charity

Hadley announced one night at bedtime, "Mommy, I want to change the world...How can I change the world?" It has been a frequent topic of conversation. It is a daunting question to answer, and one of my answers has been "Start by just being kind. By making others happy. Bring a smile."
Prior to turning 5, Hadley had a beautiful plan for her birthday party! She wanted to ask her friends to bring cat food for gifts so that she could donate the food to the kitties at the Animal Shelter.
The birthday party has been discussed. A lot...To my genuine shame, it simply has not yet happened. And, in only a few short months, she will soon be turning 6!
As this has consistantly been on her heart for the last year, I thought it would be fitting to honor her quest for giving by helping her to do a little bit more. She will finally be having her 5th birthday party, with cat food requests (before she turns 6) and she will be presenting the cat food to the shelter within days to follow! The thought of being able to provide the shelter with money to help the cats with their needs, made her even happier and more excited!
The shelter is excited for her generous gift. They are trying to set up their charity on GoFundMe so that any and all donations will be donated directly to them from this site.
The best way I can think to help Hadley feel that she is making a difference and beginning to change the world, is to start locally and allow her to feel that impact of change, joy, gratitude and hope. This has come directly from her heart. She LOVES cats!
