#Keeping the music alive

Fix our Organ. Please help St. James Church, Merton to continue helping and supporting the local community through music and prayer.

St James’s Church Morden, on Martin Way, might not look like your traditional local church but we like to think of it as the church in the heart of the community, with the community at its heart.

One of our main features at St James is our organ, which is a lovely accompaniment for our choir, and sounds wonderful at weddings, christenings, and our regular services. We are very proud of it.

We host charity concerts (most recently for St Raphael’s Hospice, and the International China Concern children’s charity) and other events, such as, Carol services, Christingle services for the local school and to raise money for the Children’s Society plus many more worthwhile charities.
The organ, which is central to all our music, is sadly in need of repair to the tune of an extra £4,500. Can you help us keep that choral tradition alive? Help us to be there with the service you might want when you or a loved one might need it most?
Don McLean and Madonna, in American Pie, sang of the “day the music died!” Help us (with our American Vicar) keep the music alive at St James’s Church and donate large or small to our Organ Fund. And come and listen and join in the singing too, of course!
