Hurricane Harvey Damage
Donation protected
My house in Spring, TX was under contract for sale and scheduled to close on August 25, but the closing/funding did not complete that day due to the impending hurricane. Two days later, during the flooding from Hurricane Harvey, the house took about a foot of water on the first floor. Since the closing wasn't completed, the extensive damage is my responsibility to repair.
We had moved out our belongings, and the kiddos and I
are safe - so we recognize we are luckier than many of our neighbors. But I have a major project ahead to restore the house to the pre-closing condition so that the buyers can move in!
I hope to get some FEMA funds; however, I know that won't cover everything, and at this point, I don't even know what our total costs will be since I am awaiting bids from backed-
up contractors.
I have had several friends ask how they can help, so thought this might be a great way to direct those offers! Anything will help.
Keep smiling!
