My name is Secilia Ho and I’m going to be a Junior at Wadsworth High School. I’m writing in regards of asking for financial support. This past year, I had the amazing opportunity of attending the 2017 Ohio North Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference, also known as HOBY Leadership Conference. I was recognized from my school to attend this awesome leadership building seminar with other chosen leaders all across Ohio. What I’ve learned in a period of four days at Youngstown State University was life changing. I learned how each and every one of us can make a difference, and how we have the power to achieve whatever goals we set our minds towards. Within a period of four days, I’ve made lifelong friends which I’m truly lucky to have.
This experience was so motivational and inspirational that I want to bring back the lessons I’ve learned from HOBY to better our community. I want to continue building my leadership skills at the Hugh O’Brian Youth World Leadership Congress. The deadline for registering is June 30th of this year, but the actual seminar will take place during July 22-29th in Chicago, Illinois.This seminar takes place in Chicago, Illinois at Loyola University. It is a seven day congress filled with motivational speakers, volunteer projects, leadership building activities and much more. I will be surrounded with over 450 students from countries all over the world. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity because it is only offered to students going into their junior year of high school. The fee for this week-long congress goes towards our shirts, food, and activities we will do. I hope to attend this congress with other amazing students all over the globe to realize my dreams and to be equipped with tools to improve my school and community. After HOBY, I was inspired to continue striving towards my goal of creating a recycling program at Wadsworth HIgh School. If I manage to raise over $1,825, which is the fee for WLC, I’ll use the remaining donations to fund my recycling program I strive to accomplish. I hope to be able to make my school a better place by recycling more, but I need your help.
I would really appreciate it if your company can assist me in my efforts to attend the World Leadership Congress and to bring back the lessons I’ll learn to better our community, school, and myself. Any amount would help tremendously. All donations will be used to fund my attendance at the World Leadership Congress and any amount I received over will go towards a recycling program I want to begin at my school. Thank you in advance.
