Devastating Flood Recovery
Donation protected
It is not like our family to ask for help often, but we are in desperate need right now. On Monday, May 31st, during the torrential rains that hit Parker County, our home flooded and we lost almost everything. Thank God that we are all safe and my son as able to wade through the waist high water to save our pets.
Moments ago we were informed that our flood insurance does not cover any of the contents of our house, only the structure. This was devastating news.
The full extent of the damage will not be known for a while as we slowly begin the cleanup and recovery.
Right now, we know that we have lost nearly all our our furniture except for one bed and a few tables and chairs. Other appliances and electronics were beyond salvageable. Even if they could have been dried out, the amount of mud in them makes them unusable and a total loss. Two computers were lost in the rapidly rising water and my son's CPAP machine as well. We are just now beginning to discover some of the additional damage, ruined clothing, my grandson's trombone for school, rugs, food, towels, blankets, etc., not to mention the irreplaceable keepsakes and mementos.
We know these times are tough for everyone, but we are asking for any help you can give. Without our friends and neighbors, we are facing a very dark time. If there is anything you can contribute to help our family, please do.
Sincerely,
The Morgan Family
