A Brother in Need
This is my brother Edwin Rivera who lives in Patillas, Puerto Rico. Prior to the storm and for several years, my brother struggled financially. Edwin has never been a materialistic person. He has always been a survivor and has learned to managed and spread his food for a long length of time. He has never asked for help so on a bi-weekly/monthly basis I reach out to him and ask him “Edwin, how’s your food level”? I have always worried about his health and living conditions. My family, his friends, and myself send him money for food as his nourishment is the most important thing for him to have beside a roof over his head. Hurricane Maria as we all know has placed devastation into the island of Puerto Rico. Edwin did survive the storm and though his home is intact he has accumulated a large mountain of debris in his backyard from a small vacant home that was once located in his back yard which was ripped apart from the storm. Prior to the storm Edwin only had plumbing available in ¼ part of his home. He dealt with it though it killed me to know that he washed himself by collecting buckets of water from the piping available in his backyard. Since the storm many friends, families, church members and just good hearted people have asked how can we help Edwin?
This Fund has been created so that you can help Edwin rise back up from this storm and repair the critical needs of his home. Any amount donated well be most appreciated and will be used for his nourishment and repairs towards his home.
