Help With Baby Maddox's Medical

Being a product of two very special and unique people, Maddox came into the world in his very own completely unique way. He was born on November 2, 2014 at exactly 2 minutes after the time change, so 2:02 am became 1:02 am. He survived a complete knot in his umbilical cord and having it wrapped around his neck. The knot was completely "tied".
About 1.5 hours after he was born he was having a lot of problems with breathing and was taken to NICU. He was sedated and intubated. Initially, immediate surgery was ruled out, however it became clear that Maddox was having some difficulty transitioning from fetus to newborn and had been diagnosed with pneumonia. The Doctors were optimistic at first however Sam & Eric were not able to hold Maddox until over a week later.
Since his birth Maddox has had a lot of complications. Sam & Eric have found out the reason he would stop breathing was from seizures. The Doctors believe that at some point Maddox suffered from a lack of oxygen to the brain, that lead to the seizures. Maddox wasn't having typical seizures so it wasn't something easily noticed or seen. However the good news is that today, Sam & Eric found out that the MRI was completely normal and after starting medicine Maddox had normal brain activity and no seizures for 24 hours! The neurologist and main doctor believe any damage will heal and that he checks out perfect neurologically. He will be followed very closely to make sure he is hitting all milestones. Also, the breathing tube was removed today and Sam & Eric finally got to hold him!
Sam & Eric are both unable to work during this time, instead opting to stay at the Ronald McDonald House so that they can be with Maddox as much as possible. It is unclear on when they will be able to take Baby Maddox home.
During this time I know I wanted to send Sam & Eric flowers and pick-me-ups to let them know I was thinking about them and praying for Maddox's quick recovery. However after discussing it with several close friends we thought that creating this GoFundMe account for Sam, Eric & Maddox would be a better use of our resources so that they could have peace of mind with their finances and focus on the important goal of getting Maddox healthy and ready to come home.
Any contribution will go to Sam & Eric directly and will be used as they need.
