Renee McNulty (aka Grammy)

As many of you know, our mom Renee has begun her second battle with cancer after being in remission for almost three years. At the end of August doctors detected a singular tumor in her neck at the base of her brainstem near the carotid artery. After many tests and scans her doctors have determined the cancer to be the same as before (it's a long one): Desmoplastic Small Round Blue Cell Sarcoma. Renee's cancer is actually kind of a mystery to doctors because her diagnosis doesn't really fit any category, but most closely resembles this form of sarcoma.

Due to the location of the tumor surgery is not an option. Mom's doctors have prepared a four-month treatment plan that includes a combination of chemotherapy and radiation. The doctors are hopeful that this treatment will eradicate the tumor.

Please keep my Mom and Dad and the rest of our family in your prayers as we begin this all too familiar journey. Pray that the Lord will give us peace during times of fear and anxiety. Pray that He will empower us with His strength in times of weakness and fatigue. And lastly, please pray that we will be continually reminded of His love for us and the hope that we have in Him regardless of these circumstances.
