Help Us Pay Rent

Hi! Unfortunately my husband was fired from his job at the beginning of November. We were both incredibly sick from some kind of virus he brought home from his job almost all of September and he ran through all of his sick days. In October he had to take one more day off and that was apparently the final straw and a few weeks later they walked him out the door.

I am unable to work because of medical problems, and he's been looking every day for a new job since, so far he's only been able to get to the point of talking to recruiters over the phone, no in person interviews. We've ran out of savings, we've cashed out our stocks, we're in the process of selling belongings, but that won't be enough.

His car is now dying, his transmission is screwed up, we do not know how much that will cost just yet. We're more concerned with paying our rent at the moment. A screwed up car will be pretty unhelpful for job searching. Unfortunately we live in Texas were public transportation is... not the best... so a working car is fairly necessary.

I've set the goal sorta low as we don't know how much the car will need yet, but we absolutely do need money for rent by January 1st. We have a cute cat that needs shelter, as well.
