Vehicle Repair

This past Thursday night, Ashly and I noticed our car making a funny noise on the way to taking the kids to the movies. On the way home, the noise got louder and louder until we eventually broke down. We were so thankful to get the car our home that night, but the next morning we were hit with the news that our motor was not repairable. To purchase a motor to get our car up and running will costs us around $2,800. As you could imagine, we were shocked with the price of this repair. After looking at our finances and considering future costs of travel and childbirth, we decided that we simply could not afford this repair. Financing repairs like this is also not an option for us here in the DR.  This decision leaves us vehicle-less for the time being until we can raise enough money to afford the repair.

In lieu of trying to raise the funds through Makarios for the repair, we are going to be raising the funds for this repair through this gofundme page. The main reason for this being the time-sensitivity of needing a vehicle for our family as we hope to get the car repaired within the next two weeks.  

We appreciate your prayer and support in this situation. We have already felt amazing support from our community here in helping us get our car home the night it broke down and then to the mechanic shop the next day. We feel very lucky to live in such a caring community, but also feel lucky to have the amazing support system that we do back in the states.
