Zena's Medical Fund
Donation protected
On Friday November 7th, I took ownership of Zena, a dog who was in dire need of help. Her current owner had no means to care for her and was watching her waste away to nothing. I knew the financial commitment might be substantial but I could not ignore this dog's horrific condition.
I have been working with the vet at RAL to start diagnostics. Zena is severely anemic, heartworm positive and weighs 41.2 pounds--she should probably weigh between 70 and 80 pounds.
The next steps for trying to find out what is wrong with Zena will likely involve x-rays and an ultrasound along with a blood transfusion due to her severe anemia. If and when we get her healthy, she will need to also go through heartworm treatment.
I am hoping that the animal lovers in my life would be willing to donate a little bit to help Zena. Any help is greatly appreciated!
