My name is Lori. I am a single Mom and small business owner.
My youngest Son, who 22 yrs old, was involved in a horrific car accident on Easter Sunday this year. He fell asleep at the wheel driving home. His car rolled off the interstate into the trees and a tree smashed the dash board on his lap. He was not found for 8 hours. He was flown to TGH where they performed 6 surgeries within 3 weeks, Thankfully the trauma team saved his left arm from being amputated, yet after multiple fracures and repairs, skin grafting to his arm, and a left leg above the knee amputation, he still suffers with limitations and pain. He has and will continue to need ongoing therapy and surgeries.
I have limited income and am not able to work as much as I used to and have found this to be very draining financially to transport my Son to medical visits, much less the added groceries, since he is unable to contribute due to not being able to work.
I am not one to ask for help, I actually am used to helping others. This is really taking a lot for me to reach out.
