Meet Jill.
Jill is a local of Park/Summit county in Colorado, a dog mom of three, a holistic health advocate, a fiercely supportive friend, and a stage four synovial sarcoma cancer patient. She is best known for her seriousness when it comes taking care of the pets in her charge, and her sense of humor when it comes to everything else.
After years of advocating for herself with multiple doctors to find a reason for the pain in her leg, Jill was finally diagnosed with stage three synovial sarcoma several years ago. Synovial sarcoma is a rare, aggressive form of soft-tissue cancer known for its resistance to chemotherapy and radiation. While the first tumor was removed successfully, a couple spots were detected in her lungs two years later. Sadly, those spots continued growing, and the cancer has now metastasized to both her lungs.
Jill is facing an uphill battle with a challenging-at-best prognosis, and her only medical treatment consists of multiple painful and invasive surgeries. She is in need of support from her community. Jill is going to need funds to help her with living expenses, but that is just the start. Because her type of cancer is difficult to treat with traditional medicine, she will need to spend significant resources pursuing holistic alternatives that are not covered by her insurance.
