Sean Moore's Medical Relief Fund

Hi, my name is Marie Moore.  My husband Sean has been hospitalized since October 17th with multiple health issues.  I took him to Urgent Care Friday morning because he woke up and had an altered mental status.  When we got to urgent care he wasn't making any since when you talked to him.  While we were there they discovered he had a fever of 104.  They performed many tests but nothing came back conclusive, so they sent him to Northside Hospital.  While at Northside Hospital he was diagnosed with MRSA and sepsis.  Then they discovered he had pnuemonia and because of the pnuemonia he developed ARDS.  The sepsis is a bacteria in the blood and it affected his heart and caused something called endocarditis, this is where there is a sac of bacteria on the heart.  This caused his mitral valve to be compromised and they had to do open heart surgery to repair the damaged valve.  He was transferred to Piedmont Hospital on October 27th and they performed the surgery on October 29th.  Since then he has been on and off a ventilator so they had to do a tracheotomy on Sunday, November 9th and then on Monday November 10th they had to put in a feeding tube to his stomach so he could recieve nourishment.  As of today, November 10th he has had many blood tests, CT scans and MRI's because he is not following commands or responding in any way.  Because of all this we have many doctor bills.   Although the amount that I am requesting is large, it only touches the surface of what is to come.  He is going to need extensive rehabilitation as well.  Any help is greatly appreciated.   Thanks and God bless.

- Infection of thumb - since March of 2012 had to cut off    thumb nail right before Thanksgiving and it didn't heal     so he had to have a vein taken out of his leg and put           into his arm to increase the circulation going to his             hand.
