Help Gus the therapy dog fight cancer!

Donation protected
I know this is a sensitive time to be taking up cyberspace real estate, but I believe this is important  to share. Gus is a therapy dog in Emma's elementary school classroom. He is present to assist in calming an excited child down, to encourage social interaction among students, and reduce overall classroom stress to improve the learning environment.

Unfortunately, Gus was recently diagnosed with bone cancer in his left front leg. The cancer has not spread to the rest of his body yet. In order to stop the spread, Gus must have his leg amputated. Gus has always helped those who are special. In Gus becoming a tripod, he will be able to bond with individuals in a new way, as he will be extra special himself.

As we are all aware, elementary school teachers are not paid fair wages. Emma wants to prolong the life of Gus as long as comfortably possible. Please consider helping Emma afford his surgery and vet bills. The surgery will be about $1,600. On top of that, Gus will need recovery lodging after the surgery, as well as various medications and vet check ups. The total bill will be over $3,000.

We appreciate your consideration to assist Emma through this time. Gus has been an integral part of so many lives as a therapy dog. Now he needs your help.
