Nuestra amiga la académica Guadalupe Rodriguez Gómez, Profesora Investigadora en CIESAS Occidente (PhD en U Chicago), especialista en desarrollo internacional con interés especial en México y América Latina, es la autora de libros, capítulos de libro y artículos, y ha sido becaria de diversas entidades nacionales e internacionales. Actualmente Guadalupe necesita nuestra ayuda porque está pasando por una situación particularmente difícil, batallando contra el cáncer. Estamos haciendo un llamado a amigos, amigas y colegas de la profesora Rodríguez Gómez para contribuir a un fondo que le permitirá cubrir deudas que ha contraído durante sus tratamientos, así como cubrir costos asociados con los tratamientos que todavía requiere. Our friend and accomplished colleague Professor Guadalupe Rodríguez Gómez (PhD UChicago), a research professor at CIESAS-Occidente [http://occidente.ciesas.edu.mx/dra-guadalupe-rodriguez/] is the author of many books, even more articles, winner of many awards and distinctions in Mexico and abroad. Most of all she is an active and key contributor to many debates in Mexican and Latin American anthropology, development, food studies, resource management, immigration, and more.
We are calling on friends and colleagues of Professor Guadalupe Rodríguez Gómez to donate to her health fund. She has been battling cancer in recent years, and at this point her insurance has run out. She needs help to cover outstanding and new bills, as well as travel costs, that will help her through treatment. This fund raising will help her pay those bills, and also, and perhaps more important, will let her see how much she means to us.
