Colton Strong

I am raising money for my Cousin Beth and Alan Carroll's micropreemie baby! Colton Michael was born on 11/11/17 at 23 weeks gestation due to cervical insufficiency at UAB Hospital in Birmingham Alabama.
His biggest obstacle has been his lungs since they are so tiny and not developed. He’s been intubated on 2 different ventilators since birth and lungs are still developing. He’s had various tests, scans, PICC lines, catheters, IVs, multiple blood transfusions, several rounds of steroids, etc. He had a grade I brain bleed, but that has stopped, however his ventricles have enlarged and that’s an ongoing issue. He’s overcome a bad skin infection where he was on antibiotics for 14 days but he's a FIGHTER ! He is still on the ventilator at 5 weeks old so the main goal is to focus on breathing, growing and developing and trying not to get anymore infections.

He will probably end up having eye surgery to fix poor eyesight from being born prematurely.  
Positives are that he’s a fighter, he’s great at eating, and he’s got good muscle tone :)

Beth and Alan live close to Auburn Al and Beth has been with Colton everyday since birth and Alan has been traveling back and forth through the week so he is able to work some.
Beth and Alan are newlyweds and just moved into a new house when they found out about sweet Colton!

As you can imagine their world has been rocked and all three of them have a long journey ahead including being in the NICU for several more months (due date wasn't till mid march) then any future medical obstacles he may face due to being premature. I am hoping to raise money to help them with any future medical expenses, everyday life expenses and regular baby items they will need when they get to go home!
Colton is our little miracle child and we thank God everyday for his presence on this Earth.
