GROW Sierra Leone Fundraiser

On August 14, 2017, Sierre Leone was hit with a series of heavy rainfalls that caused a mass mud slide. The confirmed death total is 500 people. Over 3000 people are left homeless. Families have been separated and many are left without food or shelter.
Founded in 2015 by Tracy Barry of GROW is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering and encouraging women to pursue their education and chase their dream. GROW ensures to support, empower, encourage and develop women to gradually rise to achieve their goals. The six pillars of GROW are education, entertainment, health, empowerment, entrepreneurial and leadership development. Grow believes that being able to manage and implement these six core values, empowers women in other areas of their lives. GROW exists in order to provide programs and direct services relating to integration and education for immigrant women and girls and to assist them to make a smooth transition into the Canadian lifestyle.
GROW has started this campaign to raise money for victims of the Sierre Leone mudslide. We have partnered with the Sierre Leone Association of Alberta and all funds will be distributed to initiatives that help women and children affected by the mudslide. We have challenged Africans in the Diaspora to come together to help or fellow sisters in Sierre Leone. GROW has committed to begin the challenge by donating $400. Tracy Barry, the founder of GROW will put down $50 of her own and members of the GROW Team will each contribute what they are able to afford.
We will have two part donation distribution
plan to ensure that we are helping victims during the aftermath of the mudslide as well as long term. The following is our two part distribution plan:
4 Week Emergency Relief Plan: All the money accumulate d in the next 4 weeks will be given and distributed to initiatives involving women in Sierre Leone with the help of the Sierre Leone Association of Alberta.
End of the Year Relief: All money accumulated after the 4 weeks will be given at the end of the year to maintain a flow of money to the various organizations of our choice.
We challenge you to donate, as much as you can, to help the women and children in Sierre Leone who are suffering at this moment and need help from those in the diaspora.
