Gregory Wayne Blackwell of Webster, TX — husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend—died at clear brook crossing in hospice care on Saturday, August 11, 2018 after a long illness of multiple system atrophy. He was 54 years old.Greg was born on September 3, 1963, to Wayne and Beth Blackwell in Amarillo, TX. From a young age, he loved fishing and hunting. He graduated from Buckner High School, during that time he developed a true love for golf. After high school he attended san Jacinto college and then attended a technical School. He then received a job at Halifax corporation. He worked as a field service technician for about 15 years and spent his spare time fishing, hunting, golfing, and going to the shooting range. He married Karen Blackwell on April 18th, 1998. He was valued as a son, husband, brother, and friend. Greg loved spending time with his family and friends. Greg is survived by his wife, Karen Blackwell; his children, Trevor, Colleen, Megan, Allison, and Kristin Blackwell; his mother, Beth Blackwell; his sister, Sherri Lynn and her husband Larry Lynn; his loving nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives. He is preceded in death by his father, Wayne Blackwell; grandfather, Woodrow Blackwell; grandmother, Gwen Blackwell and Grandson, Micheal Wayne. Gregs body will be donated to Texas State university and his brain will be donated to the mayo clinic for further research of multiple system atrophy. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 18th at 3:00 pm at University Baptist Church in Houston, TX. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the family 's go fund me page.
