Greene County Child Care Center Play Deck

Our children love to play outside on the deck: riding bikes, playing games, water table activities, blowing bubbles, writing with chalk, building friendships and soaking in the fresh air. The outdoor time stimulates young brains and promotes developmental, social and cognitive growth. Every student in our primary building benefits from the back deck because it is one of the few outdoor spaces safe enough to accommodate the age range of children we have in our center.

Our current outdoor deck is beginning to be unsafe for our children to play on due to its age. The deck has undergone regular maintenance and repairs throughout the years, but is reaching the end of its useful life. The goal of this fundraiser is to allow GCCCC to fully renovate the deck including: updating the deck sub-structure to make it code compliant; installing new long lasting materials that will hold up to the daily rigors of dozens of children learning, playing, riding bikes, and being children; and installation of a child-safe rail system to keep young learners protected.

To complete the project, GCCCC has partnered with Habitat for Humanity - Greene to help provide technical expertise and organize labor, as well as several other local small business partners to provide donated materials. Funds raised would be used to purchase additional materials to complete construction.
