Grayson’s New Ride!

This is what Grayson will be getting! This is during his Demo!

Grayson is a happy fun loving 6 year old little boy. Grayson has several things that affect his daily life and mobility though. Grayson was born with complex club feet. He underwent numerous rounds of casting in Iowa City (about 70) and also one surgical procedure. Nothing would keep Graysons feet happy.  Due to this Grayson has a chronic pain disease, and walks on the sides/top of his little feet. But this doesn’t stop him from loving life and making the best out of his situation. Grayson also suffers from several other medical conditions that affect his daily life but knowing this child you would never know it. We applied for insurance to purchase Grayson a new motorized scooter a few months back. They have since denied with no way around appealing it. Grayson is able to be functional at home but what they don’t understand is at night this child hurts, he gets tired easy, and he just struggles to keep up with his peers at times. Grayson can’t ride a bike, something almost every kid his age can. He can’t walk super long distances which puts him in his wheelchair or stroller which restricts his independence.  Grayson recently received his camper from the Make A Wish Foundation which has been an enormous blessing to our family! But Grayson tries to walk to the playground or go for walks with us but gets tired easy or his feet hurt because he cannot wear shoes... he would much rather be out in front of the adults with his friends. He has a fight in him that many grown adults couldn’t ever imagine. 

We will be purchasing a mobility scooter for Grayson out of pocket because we feel this could be a huge asset to his quality of life and independence.
