Help Graveldingers get to Mayo Clinic
As some of you know, George Graveldinger has been dealing with
some very serious medical issues the past 2 years. His doctors have tried a
needed procedure on his heart twice unsuccessfully. In addition he has other
very serious medical issues which has caused complications. A lot of questions
are still unanswered regarding George's health. Therefore, his doctors
have referred George to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Julie &
George will be at Mayo for a minimum of six days while
George undergoes testing to see exactly what is contributing to his deteriorating
health and he gets the needed procedure on his heart.
While George and Julie are always the first ones to help out,
they are also the last to ask for help. George was too ill to continue to work
and has medically retired due to his medical conditions. Julie continues her
business Graveldinger Graphix, but spends much of her time as a caregiver to
George. As you can imagine with just hotel, gas and food costs for a week the
travel costs will be quite expensive even before the medical expenses.
Let's help get the Graveldingers to Mayo Clinic so they can focus on George
getting the medical care that he needs without the worries of financial burden.
From their dedication to Relay for Life, their years of service with St. Anne's
and even organizing a very special wedding for a friend, George and Julie have
proven that they are there when someone needs help. Now they need our help.
Please help if you can.
I am also collecting cash & check donations as well as gift cards if you
are so inclined. If you have any questions please contact Keri Leslie.
Thank you so very much.
*** UPDATE as of June 5, 2013 ***
A HUGE thank you to everyone for the overwhelming support! George and
Julie are so touched by the generosity of family and friends. We are all
so grateful to each and every one of you.
I started this fund
for George and Julie to help them cover the travel expenses to Mayo
Clinic. Although George and Julie have health insurance, they were
notified yesterday that Mayo Clinic is out-of-network. At this time the
Graveldingers have been given an estimate that their out-of-pocket costs
will be in the range of $20,000-$30,000.
Since then, Julie has
been on the phone almost non-stop trying to see if anything could be
done. So far, they have not had any luck. They have not given up but it
does appear that the costs will be in the tens of thousands of dollars
if George is treated at Mayo Clinic.
They are still focused on
getting George the care he needs but, as you can imagine, it is
extremely disheartening to be faced with upwards of $30,000 in bills.
The group of "pushy broads" that helped organize this site have decided
to raise the goal.
Together we have done so much in such a short
time! They still need our help. Let's see how close we can get them to
covering ALL of the expected bills.
