Grant Schneider Memorial Fund

Donation protected
Early Sunday morning, on January 17th, a house fire in Malibu, CA tragically took the life of Grant Schneider. This horrific loss has been devastating for our family and completely crushed my sister and her three daughters.  He was staying at a short-term rental house for the memorial of his girlfriend’s brother. There were no fire alarms to alert him and the others of the intense flames and smoke that were spreading through the house. By the time Grant’s girlfriend and her mother woke up, the flames had already climbed up the walls.  Grant was not able to escape. The fire ravaged the house and raged through 4 acres, taking more than 200 firefighters and a water-dropping helicopter to get it under control. An investigation to determine what sparked the flames is ongoing.

Grant celebrated his 22nd birthday last month.  He was such a loving and sweet son, brother to his two older sisters, Alexa and Emma, and his younger sister, Bella. He was a calming presence that pulled us together as a family. He was a playful and heartfelt uncle to my son and daughter. He was a college student at San Diego Mesa College, planning to study business at a university in San Diego. He wanted to be an entrepreneur and to start a clothing line. Grant believed in and loved God, always spreading love and light to everyone around him.

He was a very gentle soul, a peace maker, always there for others, affectionate, compassionate, loved his family deeply, and prioritized spending time with his family.  He was so comforting, always offering to give a big warm hug. He appreciated and enjoyed laughter. He was so funny, and he could make anyone laugh.  He was kind, charismatic, helpful and full of so much love.

Everyone gravitated toward Grant because of his open, accepting, and authentic demeanor, which made him loved by all his friends.  He was very wise and always looked at things from a different perspective than others. When his family and friends had an issue or a big decision, they would talk to Grant about it. He would listen so diligently and give the most genuine and inspiring advice.  He was the most trustworthy person, anyone could confide in him. Everywhere he went he exuded positivity regardless of what was happening, always offering a silver lining and sharing hope.

He loved the ocean, making beats, skateboarding, making skateboard videos, snowboarding, going to concerts, creating music playlists, going on outdoor adventures, the fashion industry, working out, volunteering to improve the environment and botanical gardens. He was a great chef, food connoisseur, and a lover of cats and dogs.

His life was stolen far too soon. We are all so heartbroken. He will be greatly missed every day until we meet again in Heaven. We are asking you to consider helping us with all the many expenses involved: medical, funeral, a cemetery plot and headstone, loss of work for Grant's mother and 3 sisters.

Thank you for considering to help my family through this extremely difficult tragedy.  Prayers are also very appreciated.
