Grandparents seek legal custody of grandchild

We are trying to raise support to help with lawyer fees in a legal battle for custody of a child currently in the care of an unfit guardian!

This child has lived in the house of their grandparents since they were an infant. Their mom is an addict who has been in and out of jail throughout their whole life.

The child’s mother is known to leave the residence for extended periods of time without contact or any indication of return. She has now been gone for a month without contact making it abandonment.

This child is in need of some medical procedures and their grandparents legally cannot take them to get them done since they are not technically the child’s guardians.

The grandparents who have already assumed responsibility over the child for their whole life are now trying to get full custody of them. They have tried to get custody before but lost to the child’s mother who, at that point in time, was in a temporary state of sobriety and recovery.

The legal process is long and expensive, they cannot afford to do it alone. If you can help in any way it would be greatly appreciated by this family. If you cannot donate yourself, please help pass this along!
