On May 9, 2018, our city and region faced a weeks long and extreme crisis with the overland flooding of two different rivers.
Thousands of people were evacuated, leaving their entire lives behind - and months later, hundreds still remain without a home or job.
In Grand Forks, the downtown core was almost completely under water - and many of the small businesses that keep our town running remain closed. Many are being told overland floods void all insurance claims.
This campaign has been organized locally by gfcu - Grand Forks Credit Union. All money raised has been distributed to local homeowners, renters, business owners and employees who have been directly affected by flooding and evacuations.

Donations will be open indefinitely at our physical branch - Grand Forks, BC | 447 Market Ave.
The funds from this campaign will be withdrawn to an operating account at Grand Forks Credit Union via Jeff Fero - from which all cheques to recipients will be directly issued. A deliberation of applicants will be done by gfcu and Community Futures to ensure accurate and timely distribution occurs.
