Graham Eyres Medical Emergency Fund

Donation protected
In early February, Graham Eyres wasn't feeling well and was taken to the UConn ER. He was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Multiple tests and an echocardiogram confirmed that he needed a mitral valve in his heart repaired.  On March 9, 2018, Graham had Open Heart Surgery.  Doctors performed a coronary bypass in addition to Mitral valve repair.  During his post-op stay in the hospital, Graham was told that he may need further procedures including a pacemaker and defibrillator.

Graham has always been eager to help those around him.  As a teen he was known to rescue stranded motorists, and would go on search and rescue missions with the Civil Air Patrol.  As soon as he was old enough he became a volunteer fire fighter and EMT.  He spent over two decades with both Companies No. 1 and No. 5 in Southington, CT and with the East Farmington and Town of Farmington Fire Departments. He also worked as an EMT for both Professional and AMR Ambulance and was a crew chief for Rocky Hill Volunteer Ambulance. His wife, Heather, and their three children spent many hours at the firehouse and have all been active supporters of the men and women in the fire & rescue community.  It was in this community that Graham met his closest friends and did what he loved most - helping others. Unfortunately, health matters forced Graham to “retire” early from fire and rescue, but he still continues to lend a helping hand to any in need.

Now Graham needs our help.  His recuperation from this major surgery will take 4-6 months and he will be unable to work and provide for his family of five during this time.  Any generous donations will be used to assist his family in paying for significant medical expenses and daily living expenses during his convalescence.

We appreciate you taking the time to read this and thank you for your generosity and prayers.
