Interlochen: Gracie's Journey
Donation protected
Gracie, who has only been playing classical music for 6 MONTHS, has been accepted to Interlochen's piano summer program and is need of donations to get her there! Her tuition has to be paid IN FULL by May 1st, 2014. Interlochen is the most prestigious arts camp in the world, and it is her dream to attend this camp. Please help her get there! At only a sophomore in high school, Gracie has already achieved more than most young musicians. She is currently in the 2013-2014 Louisiana Youth Orchestra and Percusion Ensemble, and has been 1st chair percussionist for the 2013 All-Parish Honor Symphonic Band, pianist for the 2012 and 2013 All-Parish Honor Jazz Band, and pianist for the 2013 Louisiana All-State Honor Jazz Band. She also was the pianist for Theatre Baton Rouge's production of the Dolly Parton hit "9 to 5" and has accompanied instrumentalists for pieces such as Hindemith's "Sonata for Trumpet and Piano", Kent Kennan's "Sonata for Trumpet and Piano", Eric Ewazen's "A Song for the Heart", and Rey Rasauro's "Concerto for Marimba No. 1". Gracie studies under Dr. Thais Perkins at the Music Tree Preparatory School. She has now been accepted to Interlochen's piano summer program, but without the help of the public, Gracie cannot achieve her dream. Please, every bit counts!
