Gracie Burzumato's Cancer Recovery Fund!

Hi Burzumato Friends & Family,
As some of you may know, our sweet friend Gracie Burzumato has recently been fighting a cancer called Synovial Sarcoma. She’s had a painful mass in her thigh for nearly 5 years that we all thought was a calcium deposit, but after having it removed in January 2020 and having it biopsied, it turned out to be an EXTREMELY rare form of bone cancer that is hard to diagnose. This type of cancer normally spreads very quickly and metastasizes to the lungs, but thank God, Gracie’s grew slowly and did not spread.
Now Gracie needs our help. She has insurance, but the treatment is expensive. She’s also been going to RMH every morning for radiation since May 18th and will officially be done with her last treatment on Thursday, July 2nd! The radiation has caused heavy fatigue and extremely painful blistering and burns on her leg, making it difficult for her to walk, sleep and work full-time, so she is taking much needed time off to rest and heal at home. After radiation, she will still have 3-4 weeks of recovery, as radiation has a build-up effect that continues to treat the area after the rounds are completed. Once treatment ends, it will feel worse before it feels better.
We’d like to raise $5,000 for Gracie to help cover her surgery and radiation costs and lost time from work. Anyone who knows Gracie knows she is always there for the ones she loves, and now we’d like to be there for her. Any amount helps! We’ll be posting updates as Gracie finishes her radiation and continues on the healing process, so stay tuned and please keep her in your thoughts and prayers!
Much love,
Katie & Friends
