Gr 7-8 Walk for Refugee Awareness and Fundraiser

The Grade 7 and 8 students have organized a 1 k self-guided walk around South Shore Elementary in Regina Beach from June 16 - 25.  You can do the walk at any time while following public health guidelines and there are multiple opportunities to donate!

On the self-guided walk, people will learn about refugees, what they are going through, and have a chance to donate to the Regina Open Door Society.  We hope to raise awareness and $1,500 for the Open Door Society so they can continue to provide excellent services for refugees.

Our class wants to do this to support local refugees because we read the novel _Refugee_ by Alan Gratz and learned about how difficult life can be as a refugee. People should care about this walk and campaign because refugees are going through a lot and their lives can be very difficult.
