Hi, I am Hussam

1. Who is Hussam?
Hussam is the owner of a land in Rafah, Gaza.

2. Who is this campaign for?
This campaign is for the owner of a land in Rafah within the Gaza Strip who is hosting a large group of refugees (video linked of proof of land .) Due to the overwhelmingly cold whether and low amount of aid getting into Gaza, this campaign will be to help the owner of the land in Rafah purchase clothing, food, drink, and more.

3. I am reading that not a lot of aid is getting into Gaza. How are they purchasing aid?
In Rafah, there are merchants who have a stockpile of material left over from before the latest aggression. There are also merchants who are getting items from Egypt by unofficial means which is what they are selling.
Individuals also sell items they have surpluses in to trade for other items they need. Right now, Gaza does not have a traditional economy as they are in the middle of a war.

4. Will there be any proof to show whether or not the money is helping these people?
Yes. We plan to upload either receipts or photos of direct impact to tumblr and https://helpgazachildren.notion.site/. Please look at our page receipts for more information.

5. Who is @fairuzfan ? Can they vouch for the owner of the land in Rafah?
Fairuzfan, or Med, is a Palestinian exiled and settled on Turtle Island in the settler colonial state of the US. They own the blog (https://fairuzfan.tumblr.com/).
The owner of the land in Rafah is a friend of a close family friend to Med, Mustafa Matar, a Gazan Poet and Journalist based in Turkey currently. [Mustafa Matar was a finalist in an arab poetry contestPrince of Poets .”] Both Med and other family members are in direct contact with Hussam, though when the internet fails in Gaza, it may take a while to hear from him.

6. How is money getting into Rafah? I thought banks are not operating in Gaza?
Currently, there are two working ATMs in Rafah that are connected to the Bank of Palestine and operated with internet connection. This means they only work when the internet works in Gaza, but they do have access to ATMs and money in Rafah. There are also still money exchange places that are still operating.

7. I want to donate but I don’t have much money.
That’s understandable. Please spread the link around to family members, friends, anyone you think could spare a couple of dollars for this campaign!! Even sharing it around will help thousands of people stay warm and well fed!

8. I have another question not answered here.
