Willie's Medical Support Fund
Willie came from a local shelter. He was under weight, strong heartworm positive and mild lyme disease. He was being treated for heartworm and was doing OK. Three weeks ago he started to act funny. Lethargic, disoriented. We took him to the emergency vet where they found a mass in his abdomen. We took him to Carolina Vet Specialists where they found a Mass in his abdomen which was a grapefruit sized cyst that was leaking. He was not a good candidate for surgery due to his heartworm but was operated on immediately because he was becoming septic. He came through fine. He is still being treated for heartworm but is thriving. The cost to Triad Golden Retriever Rescue were very high. $1015.00 for the emergency vet and $3800.00 for Carolina Vet Specialists. They totaled $4800.00 not counting approximate $600.00 for his normal care of heartworm treatment, neutering, bording etc. His total bill will be in the neighborhood of $5500.00. We are a non profit rescue group and this is a big hit on our finances. We are asking your help to defray the cost of Willie's medical bills so we can continue our efforts to rescue other Golden Retrievers. Any help you can give us would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
