Please help the Goodenough-Whitaker family!
Irene and Andy Whitaker, along with their two sons returned home yesterday evening to find their house burned down in Macon, Georgia. Thankfully nobody was home or hurt. The children are boys ages five and three and all of their toys and clothes are gone including the new Christmas presents that were bought for them. Nothing is left. Nothing is salvageable and they are literally left with nothing but the clothes on their back.
They will be facing a long road ahead of them, and times will be tough especially with the upcoming holidays. What makes this tragedy even more traumatizing is the fact that Irene Goodenough (mother) lived through a house fire as a toddler in Garden City, NY that left her grandmother badly burned.
For those of you from Garden City, Irene is a Garden City native and the younger sister of my dearest lifelong friends Katie Cutti and Kristin Cutti Minuto. I grew up with Katie, Kristin and Irene in Garden City, NY and I now reside in Canby, OR.
Please do what you can with a donation of any size to get them comfortable, replace household and personal items lost in the fire and get them back on their feet. Irene will able to withdraw these funds directly from this website.
