Goll's Bakery

As many may know, my father, Bobby Goll, Sr., recently passed away, leaving our 92-year-old bakery in an unforeseen predicament with the health department. As the new and sole owner, I am required to bring our bakery kitchen and lobby area up to modern code to continue operating my family's German bakery,

It is heartwarming to have received supportive phone calls and messages from our customers and dear friends, but frankly, I have been overwhelmed by the magnitude of change that has occurred in my life and new business responsibilities.

Over the past few months, I have considered closing our business for good, but I have worked side-by-side with my father and family, baking my entire life. It’s in my blood, and I love what I do.

Recently a few local ladies in Havre de Grace stepped in and helped me develop a plan to address our code issues and make some improvements so we can reopen soon. With their support, I am fully dedicated to reaching 100 years in business and beyond!

We have set a goal to get the bakery re-opened within the next 30 days.

Our small team already has new volunteers working on our plumbing, electrical, and heating issues. Others are working on expanded business plans and exciting improvements! While I plan to self-fund many improvements, time is not on my side. Access to the capital takes time, and the longer the bakery is closed, the more difficult it will be to re-open.

As hard as it is to do this, to the many of you who have offered to help, I accept!

After compiling our budget and accounting for the items provided at cost, discounted, or free, I need to raise around $15,000.00 to close the gap. I’m seeking donations of materials, skilled labor, and monetary contributions. I also need volunteers to organize bakery supplies and paint.
