To my Friends and Family and Those That are Kind Enough to Care
My name is Debi Drury. My husband is John Drury. Those of you who know my husband, know him to be a loyal, unassuming man that is loyal to his friends and family and has love for his God and country. John, I and our family have been through a tremendous test over this past year. After having a heart attack on February 14 of this year, he was hospitalized at the end of March for post-operative testing and adjustments to medication. Once we surfaced from this we were told that two mandatory hip replacements were imminent. John knew his hips were hurting, yet he did not realize the severity of his osteoarthritis. Walking became a difficulty and soon became untenable. However, he was not able to have surgery for 6 months after his heart attack due to blood thinning medication. During this time, I lost my job as a bookkeeper because the company that I was working for went out of business. Because John needed my full-time assistance, I was not able to return to a regular job and now do part time virtual work. John has completed his first surgery now and the next one is scheduled for November. He should be able to walk adequately, and I should be able to return to work by February of 2019. Although this year has been extremely difficult and promises to bring more challenges we have not foreseen, we persist in believing and do not give up on hope. We have had to consolidate any expenses we have, have moved in with John’s sister and have taken every measure to subsist during this time without help. But we need help. Our medical expenses are in the $100,000s and our balances are upside down monthly. This is the reason I am reaching out. I pray each day and humbly ask you to find it possible to give to this fund.
